The System Administrator is the only user who can access the
System Administration area and the System Administrator can access only this area. This user has no access to the actual
Silk Central user interface.
Access the
System Administration area by logging in with the following credentials:
- username:
sysadmin
- password:
sysadmin
Important: Change this default password as soon as possible. We recommend doing this after you have connected to a
Silk Central database for the first time. To change the password, click
Change Your Password in the menu of the
System Administration area (on the top right). The username cannot be changed.
If no database is connected, the System Administrator will automatically be directed to the
System Administration area.
Note the following specifics:
- The
sysadmin account is unique. There is only one such account.
- The
sysadmin account cannot be created through the
Silk Central user interface.
- The
sysadmin account cannot be locked.
- The
sysadmin account cannot be authenticated using LDAP. It always requires the
Silk Central password.
