In this document, particularly when qualified by "Relativity", a database refers to a relational database of tables and columns accessible as an ODBC data source, where the value for a column is derived from a data item in a COBOL file. An ODBC data source name is used to refer to the database, indirectly through the Relativity catalog that describes the database. The Relativity Designer is used to create and maintain the catalog. The Relativity DBA may be used to maintain a subset of the catalog relating to end-user administration features such as table connections, security, and date constants.
