Starting a PAC using ESCWA

A Performance and Availability Cluster (PAC) cannot be started with a single action. All regions within the PAC need to be started individually. The first region to be started must be cold started:

1. In the navigation pane, click Directory Servers > DirectoryServer > FirstRegion .
2. In the menu bar, click General > Control.
3. Click START.

   This opens the Region Start Options dialog box.

4. Check Cold Start.
5. Check Use current user credentials.
6. Click START.
   On a successful start, the following message with be displayed:

    MDS3801I Server started successfully

Subsequent regions in the PAC can be warm started:

1. In the navigation pane, click Directory Servers > DirectoryServer > SubsequentRegion .
2. In the menu bar, click General > Control.
3. Click START.

   This opens the Region Start Options dialog box.

4. Leave Cold Start uncheck.
5. Check Use current user credentials.
6. Click START.
   On a successful start, the following message with be displayed:

    MDS3801I Server started successfully

Repeat the warm start steps for any remaining regions in the PAC.
